Betty is approaching her 32nd year of employment here at AACC. She has been working in the Athletic Department since 1986. She received the “Outstanding Contributions to Physical Education and Athletics” award in 1987 and 2002. Betty was involved with the volleyball program as either the assistant or head coach from 1983 to 1998 winning “Coach of the Year” in 1997. In 1994 Betty and Co- Coach Bee Manley had their AACC volleyball team Nationally Ranked 20th in the Nation for Division 1.
A former student-athlete during the "Pioneers" era of AACC Athletics, Betty participated in the field hockey and basketball programs while majoring in Human Services.
Currently Betty is the athletic uniform designer and purchaser for the athletic teams. She also runs the athletic equipment services area and is the supervisor for the work-study program. Her years of experience are critical to the success of AACC and the student-athletes. Betty is involved in the fundraising for the Athletic Department and serves as a member on the Rainbow Network Committee who actively advocates for LGBTQ equality that helps bring awareness to the campus community on homophobia and discrimination against all people.
