A former women’s lacrosse player at Anne Arundel Community College – who now is an assistant coach for the team – will be inducted into the National Junior College Athletic Association Lacrosse Hall of Fame next spring. Jenn Gappert-Phelps, who played midfield as Jenn Gappert on AACC’s 2004 and 2005 lacrosse teams, will be among those inducted in the NJCAA’s second Hall of Fame class.
Both the 2004 and 2005 lacrosse
squads were national runners-up, and Gappert-Phelps made the
National All-Tournament Team both years. As a freshman, she was
ranked second in the nation in goals with 38, fifth in the nation
with assists with 12 and third in the nation in total points
(assists and goals). The following year, she ended third in goals
with 41, first in assists with 18 and first in total points. She
was named first team All-American for both years.
A graduate of Broadneck High School, she also played soccer at AACC in fall 2003 and 2004 when it was in Division 1. She was an honorable mention All-American in 2004.
After playing at AACC, she

there, she earned all-conference and all-region honors in lacrosse.
Since 2008, she has been an assistant lacrosse coach for
AACC’s women’s lacrosse team under head coach Jim
Griffiths.
