Leginze named All-Region 20
Shortstop started all 48 games for the Riverhawks
ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College infielder Andrew Leginze has been named All-Region 20, it was announced recently. Leginze, who led the Riverhawks in batting average, RBIs, hits and doubles, was named to the honorable mention team.
Leginze was the only player to start all 48 games for the Riverhawks, primarily at shortstop. He led AACC with a .299 batting average, collecting a team-best 43 hits and 11 doubles. Leginze drove in a team-high 30 runs during the season, including a career-best five in a win against CCBC Dundalk on March 5. Overall, he had eight multiple-RBI games.
He collected 10 hits in a five-game hit streak spanning late March and early April, matching a career-high of three hits to kick of the streak against CCBC Essex on March 27.
Leginze was solid defensively and led the Riverhawks with a .961 fielding percentage, and was errorless through the first 19 games of the season.
Also a relief pitcher for the Riverhawks, Leginze amassed a 2-6 record with one save in 14.1 innings of work, earning wins against Hudson Valley CC and CCBC Essex. His save came against Bucks County CC when he started the seventh to down the Centurions in order to preserve the 4-3 victory.
The Riverhawks wrapped up the season with a 10-38 record, picking up nine of their wins at home.
