Four From Baseball Named All-Region 20
Donaldson, Pohlman, Hodges, and Holland earn honors
ARNOLD, Md. – Four members of the Anne Arundel Community College baseball team have been named All-Region 20, it was announced Wednesday evening. Matt Donaldson, Evan Pohlman, and Camden Hodges were named to the Second Team. Nicco Holland was named Honorable Mention.
Donaldson, a freshman left-handed pitcher from Crofton, posted a 6-1 record with three saves in 21 relief appearances for the Riverhawks. He struck out 52 batters and walked 22 in 54.1 innings pitched with a 3.31 ERA. Donaldson closed out the first game of AACC's Region 20 Championship series against Frederick allowing three hits and one run over the final three innings to earn his third save of the season.
Pohlman, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Glen Burnie went 8-2 in 12 starts for the Riverhawks, and ranked fourth in the Region with 13.80 strikeouts per game (nine innings). He was named NJCAA DII Pitcher of the Week on March 26 after recording a then career-high 10 strikeouts in a five-inning win against Garrett. Pohlman followed with 12 K's in a six-inning win at Westmoreland in mid-April. He was key to AACC's postseason success with a win against CCBC Catonsville in the East Division Championship opener, and the start in the Riverhawks' win over Frederick in the first game of the Region 20 Championship series.
Hodges, a freshman from Sykesville, earned a spot on the second team at outfield, where he started 31 games for the Riverhawks. Hodges led AACC in several offensive categories including batting average (.350), slugging percentage (.525), RBI (41), and doubles (13), and was tied for the team lead with five home runs.
Holland was named honorable mention as a utility player, having seen action at pitcher, first base, and designated hitter in 60 games this season. On the mound, Holland made 15 starts with a 5-4 record in 52.2 innings pitched. He earned his first career complete game in the Region 20 East Division championship game, allowing just one run while striking out five. At the plate, Holland led the team in on-base percentage at .472. He scored 50 runs and drove in 37 while drawing 50 walks in 167 at-bats. The award marks the second in Holland's career; he was named to the All-Region 20 Second Team as an infielder in 2024.
AACC's season was one for the record books as the Riverhawks advanced to the Region 20 Championship for the first time since 2011, taking the top seed Frederick Cougars to three games in the series. AACC's 35 wins marked the most since the 2012 season when the then-Pioneers recorded 40 wins.
