Maddox, Men's Golf Win Match at So. Maryland
Will Maddox shot a 78 to top the individual leaderboard
LUSBY, Md. – Led by a top individual finish from Will Maddox, the Anne Arundel Community College men's golf team took top place at the College of Southern Maryland Monday afternoon. The Riverhawks finished 43-over, 14 strokes ahead of Hagerstown at Chesapeake Hills Golf Course.
Maddox recorded seven pars on the back nine en route to a 78 (+6). Matt Crawmer finished one stroke behind in a tie for second place after carding birdies on the eighth and 18th holes. Jameson Haynes finished in sixth place overall with an 86. Darren Hoffman recorded four-straight pars on the front nine to round out the scoring with an 88. Carter Lichok finished with a 92 tied for 15th overall.
Sam Thompson tied for seventh with an 87; he birdied the 13th hole. Troy Basham was one stroke back in a tie for 10th place. Tyler Collins shot a 95 to finish 19th, and Kyle Elliott finished 40-over.
AACC plays for the MDJUCO and Region 20 titles on Wednesday and Thursday this week at Oakmont Green Golf Course in Hampstead, Md.
