COLUMBIA, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team fell to top seed and No. 1 overall ranked Harford Community College, 23-6, in the NJCAA Region 20 semifinals Friday at Howard Community College.
All-tournament team selection Tyson Miller led AACCC with three goals on five shots on goal. Sahil Lengade, who was also named to the all-tournament team, added a goal and two assists. Cullen Boswell scored twice, and Justin Sampson had a pair of assists.
AACC scored three goals in a 2:16 span in the first quarter to take a 3-1 lead, but Harford closed the quarter on a 7-0 run and held the Riverhawks scoreless for the remainder of the half to carry a 12-3 lead into halftime.
Harford continued its run with four goals in the third before Miller broke the streak with his second of the game with 5:27 left in the quarter. The teams traded goals for the remainder of the quarter.
In the fourth, Harford scored five-straight before Lengade closed out the scoring with 3:28 left to play.
AACC goalkeeper Parrish Fleming made 21 saves in the game. Rocco Gargano stopped two shots in the final 3:45.
James Kavney went 13-for-30 at the faceoff x, leading the Riverhawks to a 9-for-16 effort in the second half.
The Riverhawks caused 15 Harford turnovers in the game, led by three from TJ Swann.
AACC closes out the season with a 4-11 record after advancing to the Region 20 semifinals for the first time since 2022.
