ARNOLD, Md. – Five members of the Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team have been named All-Region 20, it was announced Friday. Tyson Miller, Jake Howard, TJ Swann, and James Kavney were named to the Second Team, and Jamari Evans was named honorable mention.
Miller, a freshman attackman from Pasadena, was one of the top offensive players in the country in 2025. He ranked fourth in the NJCAA in goals (47) and points (70). Miller was also tied for the team lead in assists with 73, and in man-up goals with six. He scored five goals and added an assist in his collegiate debut against Army Prep, and followed with a nine-point game three days later against Sussex. He scored four goals and had four assists in a narrow loss at Howard in a Region 20 game in early April.
Howard started all 15 games at close defense and totaled a team-high 25 caused turnovers, ranking him in the top-10 in the NJCAA in takeaways. Howard also had 34 groundballs on the season. The freshman from Glen Burnie closed out a win against Tompkins Cortland with his first career goal.
Swann, a sophomore from Gambrills, also started all 15 games at close defense, totaling 48 groundballs, the second-highest total on the team. Swann recorded 16 caused turnovers with a season-high four against Tompkins Cortland and three against No. 1 Harford in the Region 20 semifinals. Swann had goals against No. 5 Genesee and Hudson Valley.
Kavney, a freshman faceoff specialist from Edgewater, posted faceoff percentages above 50% in 10 of 13 games this season, and had a perfect performance against Sussex where he won all 19 faceoffs he attempted. Against top-five ranked teams, Kavney's performance was above 50%, including a 14-for-18 day at then-No. 5 Onondaga. Overall, Kavney won 157 of 265 faceoffs, the second-highest total in the NJCAA.
Evans, a freshman midfielder from Capitol Heights, started 12 of 14 games for the Riverhawks, and was a key two-way player with nine goals, 10 assists, and 14 caused turnovers. Evans had five multiple-point games including a hat trick and two assists against Sussex, and two goals and an assist at then-No. 3 Nassau. At then-No. 5 Onondaga, Evans had a career-high four caused turnovers, a mark he hit again later in the season against Tompkins Cortland, a game in which he also had a goal and an assist.
Under third-year Head Coach Jeremy Ross, the Riverhawks returned to the Region 20 semifinals, finishing the year with a 4-11 record.
