ARNOLD, Md. — The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team held visiting Harford scoreless through the first half but couldn't withstand the Fighting Owls' second-half push, falling 2–0 on Wednesday night at Siegert Field .
The Riverhawks (1-6-1) defended well early, with keeper Ethan Kiniry making five first-half saves to keep the match level despite Harford's 10 shots. AACC managed just one first-half attempt but earned two corner kicks to generate pressure of its own.
Harford (6–4) finally broke through in the 50th minute when Cristian Lopez-Contreras converted off a feed from Taishier Lawrence. Less than nine minutes later, Lopez-Contreras set up Lucas Britos for the insurance tally.
Anne Arundel pushed forward late, with Oliver Rivas forcing a save in the 68th minute and Alain Mansaray and Stephen Liberati both registering shots, but Harford's defense held firm. Keeper Nick Cannon finished with three saves for the shutout.
For AACC, Kiniry and Dylan Cunningham combined for seven saves in net.
The Riverhawks return to action on Saturday, September 27, in a 1 p.m. Region 20 game at Hagerstown.
