NORTH EAST, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer scored twice in the final seven minutes to stun Cecil College, 2-1, in a Region 20 divisional matchup on Tuesday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Cecil broke through in the 53rd minute when Luis Petavy scored off an assist from Christian Seelbach.
The Riverhawks controlled much of the second half but didn't find the equalizer until the 84th minute, when Jonathan Greene finished a cross from Knolin Walker to tie the match, 1-1.
Anne Arundel continued to press forward and completed the comeback in the 90th minute as Lucas Cerulla buried the game-winner, his third goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Ethan Kiniry anchored the back line with 10 saves, while Gage Jordan added a defensive stop on the goal line. The Riverhawks outshot Cecil 33-19 and held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks
AACC improved to 3-9-1 overall and 3-6-1 in Region 20 play. Cecil fell to 4-8-3 and 3-5-3.
The Riverhawks return to Siegert Field on Thursday, October 16, hosting CCBC Catonsville in a 7 p.m. Region 20 divisional game.
