Three From Men's Soccer Named All-Region 20
Gage Jordan, Jack Bell, Aydan Simms earn postseason recognition
ARNOLD, Md. – Three members of the Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team have been named All-Region 20, it was announced recently. Gage Jordan was named to the first team, Jack Bell earned a spot on the second team, and Aydan Simms was named to the honorable mention team.
Jordan, a freshman defender from Queenstown, Md., started all 18 games on the back line for the Riverhawks and scored the game-winning goal in AACC's upset win over Prince George's in the first round of the Region 20 tournament. Jordan was key to leading AACC to three shutouts in October, when the Riverhawks won four of their final six games, and also earning a spot on the Region 20 All-Tournament Team.
Bell, a freshman midfielder from Gambrills, Md., led the Riverhawks' offense with six goals and three assists. He opened the season on a four-game goal scoring streak, and assisted the game-winning goal in the opening round of the Region 20 tournament.
Simms, a freshman midfielder from Pasadena, Md., totaled four goals and four assists in seven starts and 18 games played for the Riverhawks. Simms had a goal and an assist in his Riverhawks' debut, and totaled four multi-point games on the year.
AACC (6-11-1) won three of its final four regular season games and scored an upset win over Prince George's in the first round of the Region 20 tournament before falling to No. 14 Howard in the semifinals.
