Holly Wall nets double-double in season debut
LA PLATA, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team rallied to within nine points of host College of Southern Maryland Wednesday, but fell to the Hawks, 70-50. Sophomore Holly Wall posted a double-double in her first game of the season.
Wall, who missed most of November due to an extended postseason run with the women's soccer team, matched her career high with 18 points, adding 13 rebounds, four assists and a team-high five steals.
Ayannah Gorham finished just shy of a double double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Adding three steals and a pair of assists. Aichatta Soumaoro scored nine points while pulling down seven boards.
The Riverhawks led by six after the first quarter, but a 24-10 second by the Hawks put AACC behind by eight headed into halftime. The game remained close in the third, but CSM doubled up the Riverhawks in the fourth.
AACC is back in action on Wednesday, December 11, hosting Harford at 5 p.m. at CCBC Dundalk.
