Bio
Mike Rice was named the first head coach of the women's golf program in December 2024.
Rice previously served as the head golf coach at Perryville High School for four seasons, during which time he expanded the team roster by 300%. Rice guided the Panthers to back-to-back Cecil County runner up finishes.
Rice is an associate teaching professional with the United States Golf Teachers Federation, and is a certified Class A Professional teacher/member with the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America.
Rice has coordinated the premier junior golf league in Cecil County for the last four years, drawing an average of 50 golfers from all across the Northeast US. He focuses his coaching on both fundamentals and etiquette, while instilling a love of the game of golf in his participants.
"I am so honored and thrilled to be named the women's golf coach at AACC. I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with the team as we work together to build and grow the program," said Rice upon his hiring. "Sponsoring a varsity women's golf team at the community college level is a huge step forward for the sport. I'm looking forward to coaching the student-athletes and helping them advance their collegiate careers," he added.
Rice is a retired Baltimore City police detective and a United States Marine Corps veteran. He is the owner of MWR Investigations, which provides security services throughout the DMV and Pennsylvania.
