ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team opened the spring 2021 season Thursday evening hosting Hagerstown Community College. Freshman Tori Minnigh scored twice for the Riverhawks, who fell to the Hawks, 5-3.
Minnigh opened the scoring in the 15th minute with her first career penalty kick goal. She made it 2-0 in favor of the Riverhawks less than seven minutes later.
Hagerstown scored in the 30th minut to cut the Riverhawks' lead in half headed into halftime.
In the 53rd minute, Hagerstown tied it up before Alexis Arias gave AACC a 3-2 lead with a high bouncing shot, her first goal of the season.
It was all Hagerstown after that, as the Hawks scored three times in the final 20 minutes.
AACC keeper Sarah Ward made 13 saves in the game. Hagerstown outshot the Riverhawks, 24-18 in the game.
AACC is back in action on Monday, April 19 in a 5 pm game at CCBC Essex.
