BALTIMORE, MD – The visiting Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team fell to host No. 15 (DII) CCBC Essex, 2-0, in the Riverhawks' regular-season finale Monday evening. AACC received 10 saves from keeper Kaitlyn Kenney.
Kenney made seven saves in the first half to preserve a 0-0 tie headed into halftime. The Knights scored a pair of goals less than three minutes apart early in the second half.
Essex outshot AACC, 30-6, and maintained a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. Cassidy Smith recorded all four shots on goal for the Riverhawks.
Up next for the Riverhawks is a trip to the NJCAA DIII Mid-Atlantic District Championship on Saturday, October 29. AACC will face Suffolk, the top seed from Region 15 for an automatic bid to the national championships.
