ARNOLD, Md. – The CCBC Essex women's soccer team scored back-to-back goals in the second half to sneak past host Anne Arundel Community College, 2-1, in NJCAA Region 20 action Tuesday evening at Siegert Field.
Tina Tinelli scored for the Riverhawks in the 22nd minute, one-timing a corner kick from Megan Miller. The lead stood until the Knights scored a pair of goals less than a minute apart midway through the second half.
Cara Halpin headed in a corner kick from Ashlin Fuentes in the 61st minute, and then Bevin Russ finished a cross from Dayana Rivera Cordero in the 62nd minute.
AACC keeper McKenzie Lanham stopped two more shots in the remainder of the game to finish with a career-high 10 saves.
The Riverhawks are back at home Saturday, October 14, when they host Howard in a 12 p.m. game at Siegert Field.
