WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The No. 18 Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team defeated host Mercer County Community College, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in a rematch of the 2024 Mid-Atlantic District Championship. Emma Miga once again had the Vikings' number, scoring two goals.
Miga got things going in the 10th minute off an assist from Riley Sheets. Holly Wall closed out the first half with an unassisted goal, firing on a loose ball right in front of the net after a corner kick.
Miga made it 3-0 in the 69th minute as McKenzie Gilbert played a free kick up to Miga, who received the ball and split two defenders before firing from just inside the top right corner of the box.
Ryleigh Smoot made six saves – three in each half – for her first career shutout.
AACC returns to Region 20 action on Tuesday, September 9, in a 5 p.m. divisional game at Potomac State.
