ARNOLD, Md. – Sophomore forward Emma Miga eclipsed 100 career points Thursday evening as the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team put together a dominant performance at Siegert Field with an 11-0 win over CCBC Catonsville.
Miga entered the game with 95 career points, and finished the game with a hat trick and an assist to increase her career total to 102. Her 100th point came as an assist in the 44th minute to cap a six-goal first half for the Riverhawks.
Holly Wall opened the scoring less than a minute into the match off a feed from Alyssa Simms, who later added a goal and assist. Eleyna Entsminger, Riley Sheets, McKenzie Gilbert, Kat Budowski, Maddie Wright, and Alaina Minefski also tallied goals, while Maddie Raynes contributed a pair of assists.
Anne Arundel outshot Catonsville, 31-1, and finished with 16 corner kicks. Goalkeeper Ryleigh Smoot earned the shutout with one second-half save.
AACC recognized its seven sophomores prior to the game: Chloe Underwood, Eden Abey, Megan Strevig, Miga, Chilton, Wall, and Gilbert.
The Riverhawks, winners of six-straight Region 20 divisional games, travel to Prince George's Saturday for an 11 a.m. divisional game. AACC closes out the regular season in a 2 p.m. divisional game at Allegany on Tuesday, October 21.
