LARGO, Md. -- The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team scored a commanding 10-0 victory at Prince George's Community College on Saturday in Region 20 play.
The Riverhawks (11-4, 8-1 Region 20) overwhelmed the Owls from the opening whistle, scoring seven times in the first half. McKenzie Gilbert netted two goals in a four-minute span, while Emma Miga scored twice and added an assist. MacKenzie Baldwin, Eden Abey, Eleyna Entsminger, and Riley Sheets also scored before halftime
Anne Arundel added three more goals in the second half, with Alyssa Simms, Alaina Minefski, and Miga each finding the back of the net. Eva Gionis recorded two assists, and Maddie Wright and Kat Budowski added one apiece.
Goalkeeper Ryleigh Smoot earned the shutout without facing one second-half shot.
Anne Arundel closes out regular-season play Tuesday at Allegany before turning its focus to the Region 20 tournament, which is scheduled to begin Saturday, October 25.
