Quandt Named Region 20 Player of the Month
Middle hitter records .836 hit%, 2.55k/set in September
ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College middle hitter Emma Quandt has been named the NJCAA Region 20 Division III Volleyball Player of the Month for September 2021, it was announced today.
Quandt played in six matches in September before suffering a season-ending injury during the fifth set against Montgomery on September 25. She averaged 2.55 k/set, and had a .836 hitting percentage to go with 14 aces (.7/set), 12 solo blocks and 2 block assists (14 total, .70/set) during the month. She also averaged 3.9 points per set.
With Quandt in the lineup, AACC went 4-2 in September. he had double-digit kills in three matches, including 13 against Chesapeake, a match during which she also recorded six solo blocks and two block assists. She had all 14 aces in a 3-0 win against Allegany.
Against Montgomery she was key in forcing the match to five sets. She had 12 kills and four solo blocks in the match.
AACC hosts the NJCAA Region 20 Division III Volleyball Championships Saturday, October 23. The second-seeded Riverhawks will face the third seed, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, in the semifinals at 1 pm. The championship game is slated for 4 pm Saturday.
