Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Salisbury
Riverhawks resume competition after two-year hiatus
SALISBURY, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's cross country team opened the season at the Salisbury Fall Classic Saturday morning. The Riverhawks, competing for the first time since the fall of 2023 and the only two-year team in the field, finished fifth overall.
Rina Morrissey was the top finisher for AACC, running the 6k course in 29:05.40. MacKenzie Pease was just behind with a time of 29:20:50, followed closely by Fiona Panzer (29:28.30) and Maisie Wukitch (29:40.60). Maggie Cochran (33:36.10), Grace Pillow (34:54.80), and Maya Christensen (35:05.30) rounded out the Riverhawks' field.
Navy finished first with a team score of 24, taking five of the top seven individual spots. Rowan had the top individual finisher and recorded a team score of 44. Host Salisbury finished third with a team score of 69, and Regent University was fourth with a team score of 124. AACC had a team total of 141.
The Riverhawks are back in action on Saturday, September 13, at the Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy at the USNA Golf Course.
