KEYSER, W.Va. -- The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team showed resilience on the road Saturday afternoon but fell, 76-61 to WVU Potomac State College in Region 20 divisional action at Lough Gym.
The Riverhawks were paced by John Hutton, who scored a team-high 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting and pulled down seven rebounds. Jaylen Marbley added 12 points and six boards, while Nic Williams finished with nine points and six rebounds off the bench. Al-Ameen Sanni contributed nine points, 12 rebounds, two steals, and a block to anchor AACC inside.
Anne Arundel battled throughout the second half, cutting the deficit to single digits on multiple occasions, but Potomac State answered with timely baskets in the paint to maintain control. The Riverhawks shot 40.7 % from the floor and outrebounded the Catamounts 38-41, while committing a season-best eight turnovers.
AACC (0-5) returns to Jenkins Gym Wednesday in a 7 p.m. Region 20 divisional game against Frederick.
