Sharp Shooting Allegany Gets Past Men's Basketball
Stacy and Sanni combine for 43 points
CUMBERLAND, Md. — Anne Arundel Community College showed grit on the road Saturday afternoon, but a red‑hot Allegany College of Maryland offense proved too much as the Riverhawks dropped a 110–75 decision at Bob Kirk Arena.
Despite the loss, AACC (3–10) delivered several strong individual performances, led by sophomore guard Ryan Stacy, who poured in 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting, and forward Al‑Ameen Sanni, who recorded a season-high six blocks to go with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Allegany (14–6) came out firing, shooting nearly 60 percent from the field and scoring 54 first‑half points to take control early. AACC struggled to find rhythm from three, starting 0–10 beyond the arc and finishing just 3‑for‑21 for the game.
Still, Stacy kept the Riverhawks afloat with mid‑range jumpers and slashing finishes, while Sanni's activity on both ends prevented the Trojans from running away too soon.
AACC responded with 53 second‑half points, attacking the paint and pushing tempo. Guard Jaylen Marbley also provided consistent offense, finishing with 12 points, 3 assists and a perfect 4‑for‑4 from the line. Forward John Hutton contributed 11 points on 5‑of‑12 shooting.
The Trojans had six players score in double figures amidst a 59.7% shooting performance. They also held a decisive 51–22 advantage off the glass.
AACC is back in action on Wednesday, February 4, in a 7 p.m. Region 20 game at Division I Harford.
