Early Lead Sends Montgomery Past Men's Basketball
Riverhawks host Delaware Tech Thursday, BMI to host pre-game tailgate
ROCKVILLE, Md. — The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team dropped a Region 20 divisional road contest Saturday, falling 108–65 to Montgomery College.
Al‑Ameen Sanni paced the Riverhawks with his 12th double-double of the season, a 22‑point, 12‑rebound performance, including 15 points in the first half. Ryan Stacy added 16 second-half points for a game total of 21, while Jaylen Marbley recorded four steals, two assists and five points. Anthony Thomas contributed seven points off the bench.
AACC (3–15, 3-13 Region 20) shot 32.8% and made 4 of 16 from 3‑point range. The Riverhawks committed 13 turnovers, leading to 20 Montgomery points, but scored 34 points in the paint and 11 in transition.
Montgomery shot 56% from the field, scored 64 points in the paint, and built a 49–27 halftime lead before pulling away by as many as 43 in the second half. The Raptors also controlled the glass 53–28 and generated 55 bench points.
The Riverhawks are back in action on Thursday, February 19th in a 7 p.m. home game against Delaware Tech. AACC's Black Male Institute is hosting a pre-game tailgate from 4-7 p.m. in the Hawks' Nest.
