Volleyball Serves Up 3-0 Win at Baltimore City
Riverhawks record season-high 25 aces
BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team rolled to a straight-set victory over Baltimore City Community College on Thursday night, winning 25-6, 25-13, 25-12 in Region 20 divisional play.
The Riverhawks came out firing, hitting .526 in the opening set and totaling a season-high 25 service aces on the night. Melissa Cunningham set the tone early with three straight aces to start the match and finished with eight total aces, 21 assists, and two kills.
Emily Ezeiruaku and Nala Duncan led the attack with five and four kills, respectively, while Hope Lewis and Leah Tompkins each added four. Nadia Suber contributed four aces and a solo block, and Emily Shadle anchored the back row with seven digs and four aces
Anne Arundel hit .226 as a team, holding Baltimore City (0-10, 0-10) to a negative attack percentage and just nine total kills.
AACC (4-13, 3-9 Region 20) continues Region 20 divisional play Saturday in a tri-match at Allegany. The Riverhawks will face Carroll at 11 a.m. and the host Trojans at 1 p.m.
