ARNOLD, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team defeated visiting Howard Community College, 3-2, in NJCAA Region 20 action at Jenkins Gym Wednesday. The Riverhawks dropped the first set, 25-19, before winning the next two, 25-23 and 25-21. Howard forced a deciding set with a 25-16 win in the fourth. AACC won the deciding set, 15-13.
Sophomore Jaymee Green paced the Riverhawks offense hitting .526 and recording 11 kills. She added seven digs and four blocks (two solo). Amari Roberts added seven kills and a pair of blocks. Mia Keen picked up 23 assists and 13 digs to go with three service aces and five kills. Lluvia Owens-Pabon added five kills and 17 digs.
AACC has a busy week ahead with five matches in five days. The Riverhawks travel to Baltimore City CC Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match, followed by a 6 p.m. match at Carroll CC Wednesday. AACC is back at home Thursday for a 6 p.m. match against Cecil before taking on host Hagerstown and Garrett in a tri-match Saturday.
